Shopping Haul – Athlone Towncentre

Travel Blogger Ireland - Sheraon (1 of 1)-6

As a blogger and fashion writer I’m constantly on fashion websites for work which often means I order so most of my own purchases online too – and yes, I get quite a lot as gifts which are also sent to me. While being handed parcels of clothes from my postman is great, I often actually miss going on a shopping spree with company – in a real-life shop – from time to time. As you’ll know from my previous post, I had a blissful shopping and spa trip with a friend last weekend in Athlone Towncentre and the Sheraton Athlone Hotel (see that post here).

Here is what I bought….

Zara Fringe Heels

Aren’t these amazing? I’m so in love with them! I had been deliberating on whether or not to order these online for a few weeks as I had also been looking at a very similar, albeit more expensive, pair by Schutz. One I tried them on in Athlone Towncentre my mind was made up. I can’t wait to wear them.

River Island Cami

Camisoles are always great to have, especially for layering under blazers. I loved the style of this and especially like how the straps broadened on the shoulders. A well fitting cami can be hard to find but this fitted me perfectly.

Zara Jacquard Shorts

I love high-waisted shorts but they aren’t that easy to wear (especially when they’re very short). I love the super thick material of these and they’re really structured so I feel like they aren’t going to move, which is a neccessity for short-shorts!

River Island Light Top

Whenever I go on a shopping trip I’ll always have a think about what I want and need beforehand and this trip I was really hoping to get more tops. I was so happy with this one, it’s such a nice fit and I love the material. It could also easily go from day-to-night which is always a huge plus for me. I actually went down a nice with this and got a size 6 as I liked the more fitted look (and I have so many oversized tops already). My top tip is always try going up or down a size if a top just doesn’t look right on you; it’s not the size that matters it’s the fit.

Zara Striped Tee

One of my favourites from the lot and it cost €9.95. I love striped tees and this is the absolute perfect fit! I know I’ll wear it loads.

H&M Lingerie Set

I’m obsessed with lace triangle bras and I particularly loved the thick laced straps on this style. I couldn’t leave it behind and it was really affordable, it was less than €20 for the two.

Topshop Casual Top

My friend picked this up for me knowing I would like and I was actually wearing the white version at the time funnily enough. The quality isn’t great to be honest as my white one hasn’t lasted well but I ended up buying the grey regardless. It was only €20 and it’s a really good basic to have.

Topshop Bracelets

I love delicate jewellery so I picked up tow of these bracelets from Topshop and wore them straight away.

Warehouse Gypsy Bardot Top

When I first picked this up my friend thought it looked like something I would never wear, and I wasn’t really sure I would like it but as I was trying on other items anyway I gave it ago. And I absolutely loved it on! It’ll be perfect for summer too.

River Island Sleeveless Blazer

I promised myself this will be that last sleeveless blazer / coat I buy! I have way too many but I loved the cut of this style. I have a light grey one already but I actually don’t really wear it as it’s too big for me and I don’t like how it fits so I told myself I’ll sell it on Depop to justify getting this one. I love how this looks on.

H&M Structured Sweater

I love this piece and it was really affordable. I really like an oversized, boxy style and it’s so comfortable.

River Island Bikini

I actually didn’t purchase this bikini in Athlone Towncentre but I did wear it over the weekend to the pool in the Sheraton. I thought I would share it with you regardless as there was the same style in River Island in Athlone but in really nice coral / pink shade.

Until next time,

nuala

Honestly you used to be one of my favourite bloggers. You were refreshing and trustworthy but now you’ve just gone down the typical blogger route of advertising hotel stays. Why can’t you just say you were given the stay for free instead of dressing it up as something its not and like you just happened to come across the place. I see this weekend you are on another hotel and flooding social media again promoting your free stay.

      Hi Amelia,
This is so disheartening to hear but I appreciate you expressing how you feel to me. To be clear, I do say I’ve been given the stay – I’ve stated it’s a “press trip” and that I was “invited” in all my hotel posts. I thought that made it very clear that I was offered the stay but perhaps that’s just clear to me. I’ve never, ever tried to pretend otherwise. To be honest, I know from feedback with brands and companies I work with, I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for being honest. I’ve been approached by brands because they also feel my blog is really trustworthy so you can imagine how important it is to me to uphold this. I’ve never and I will never promote something I don’t honestly like. I launched the travel section because I love reading travel blogs. I love going on weekend aways and I love reading these kind of posts. I also have international readers that I think will be very interested in reading about places to go in Ireland (I get emails and private messages asking me for recommendations). It honestly really saddens me that you feel this way because it’s not true. I wouldn’t enjoy a blog I felt wasn’t honest so I understand if you feel this way. All I can tell you is that I am always honest and trustworthy with anything I share, I can’t make you believe me. I do honestly appreciate you taking the time to tell me how you feel (a highlight a big issue).

      Warmest Regards,

      N

No worries no need to be disheartened. Sorry if I came across a bit harsh, just feel like some bloggers are very misleading at the moment. I will still follow you as you’re one of the classy ones. All the best

I can understand that. It’s important to feel like you can trust their opinion. Thanks for your message.. X
