Whether you’re being whisked away for Valentine’s or being spoilt with a getaway gift to use again, here are my favourite romantic weekend destinations to add to your bucket list.
Soak in the outdoor jacuzzi at dusk followed by a romantic meal.
On my birthday last month I was told to pack a bag that included a bikini and that was all I knew. I love surprises so I was really excited to be going away but I honestly didn’t know just what a treat awaited me. The Ice House Ballina is an amazing hotel. It’s charming, homely yet very modern and cool, it’s luxurious yet has a vintage charm, and best of all – it has an outdoor sauna and jacuzzi! I am such a water-baby and love spas and outdoor pools or jacuzzis. We checked into a vintage style suite complete with a the biggest bath I’ve ever seen in the style of a gigantic barrel! You can choose from a beautiful Vintage suite or a modern room with huge windows overlooking the river.

Book a couple’s spa treatment and sip cocktails in the lounge
I think everyone should visit the G at least once. It’s a chic boutique hotel like no other designed by renowned milliner Philip Treacy. I’ve stayed here once, visited the spa a couple of times and have eaten here many times and I’ve yet to be disappointed. The food is amazing so be sure to book in for a romantic meal after lounging in the thermal suites all afternoon.

Spend your stay in a robe and slippers and you’ll feel renewed and refreshed after a night in Farnham
Farnham Estate is based on the premise of the renewal and rejuvenation so it’s the perfect place to escape to when you need some R&R. The 16th century 4* estate boasts over a thousand acres of rural surroundings, an outdoor pool, modern rooms and an amazing spa. Be sure to bring your walking shoes and bikini. Enjoy a wine on the Marker’s rooftop bar and soak in a marble bathtub
The Marker Hotel is pure luxury. The hotel is situated in Dublin’s Grand Canal Dock which is my favourite part of the city. The food and the spa are amazing but I must admit, the staff really did make our stay. They were all amazing and really do deliver a five star experience.
