A couple of weeks ago I jetted off to the French Alps for a few days of skiing with some friends. We’ve planned a mini-holiday for the 2nd of January the past few years and it’s such a nice time of year to get away and make the most of the last few days of the Christmas holidays. I couldn’t wait to get back on the slopes by day and enjoy cheese and wine by the fire at night.
While away and posting on Instagram, I had a few messages from my followers asking for advice for booking ski trips, who we booked with, etc. We booked our accommodation and airport transfers with Ski Francewhich I would highly recommend. This was actually our third time booking ski trips with Ski France (you can see my previous Ski Travel Blogs here and here).
As we’d been skiing previously, we knew what we were looking for in a resort. The Ski France website makes it really easy to find a resort suits. We chose Résidence Les Terrasses de Veret a ski-in-and-out apartment resort in Flaine. The apartments offer all essential facilitates, balconies, a swimming pool and both an outdoor jacuzzi and sauna to warm up after a long day in the cold. The location was also great with slopes and ski lifts within a short walk from the hotel and a lift down to the village which is populated with bars, restaurants and shops. For more information on the resort click here.
My ski suits were from Columbia (white suit) and Helly Hansen – both of which are excellent quality. I also invested in North Face gloves this trip, as my hands were so cold last time, and picked those up in Kildare Village. My Sorel boots from Shopbop were also so warm and perfect for the snow. If you do have an upcoming ski trip, be sure to check out Shopbop’s Cold Weather picks for stylish snow attire.
Until next time,
